Who is Amotion.video?
Founded by Andrew J. O'Keefe II
Media Producer & Digital Archivist
Amotion.video was founded by Andrew J. O'Keefe II to help people and organizations record what matters, shape it into meaningful media, and preserve it for future use.
Andrew brings 20+ years of experience working inside cultural, technological, artistic, institutional, and scientific frontiers — often at moments when new fields, communities, and movements were still learning how to explain themselves to the wider world. His early career began in global media localization at SDI Media, now Iyuno, where he worked inside the infrastructure that helps film and television travel across languages, markets, and cultures. He later moved into leadership roles with Android Jones and Tribe 13 during a formative era of digital visionary art, immersive festival culture, and new forms of artist-led media; with Singularity University during a defining period of public conversation around exponential technology, futurism, and human systems; and with MAPS Public Benefit Corporation, now Lykos Therapeutics, during the expansion of psychedelic medicine into broader clinical, cultural, and public awareness.
Across these environments, Andrew's role was never simply to “make content.” He helped record emerging worlds, organize media systems, support public communication, preserve knowledge, and translate complex work into forms that people could understand, trust, share, and remember.
Since founding Amotion.video in 2018, Andrew has carried that same rare combination of production skill, archival intelligence, live-event experience, and cultural sense-making into award-winning work for public agencies, museums, universities, artists, nonprofits, and mission-driven companies.
His projects include documentary and archival media for the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History; public education, campaign media, and award-winning visual storytelling for Santa Cruz METRO; environmental and educational storytelling for the Seymour Marine Discovery Center and UC Santa Cruz; livestream and hybrid event production for institutions and global gatherings; campaign media connected to psychedelic science and public education; and creator education systems for artists such as Christian Rex van Minnen, whose paid online oil painting education platform grew to more than 1,000 subscribers in its first months.
Amotion.video's work has been recognized through Hermes Creative Awards, CAPIO recognition, Santa Cruz Film Festival honors, successful fundraising and public engagement campaigns, museum storytelling, civic communications, archival media projects, livestreamed events, and subscriber-based education platforms. Projects have ranged from micro-budget community history films to public agency campaigns, from museum anniversary documentaries to artist-led learning communities, from social-first video campaigns to long-term archival media systems.
What unites all of this work is a simple but uncommon premise: media is not disposable content. Media is how people teach what they know, how institutions preserve what they have learned, how communities remember themselves, and how future audiences inherit meaning.
Amotion.video exists for clients who are not simply trying to “get a video made.” It exists for artists, agencies, institutions, founders, educators, historians, nonprofits, and cultural leaders who need a partner capable of understanding the deeper value of their work — then turning that value into media that can build trust, move audiences, preserve memory, and create long-term opportunity.
